I've always been drawn to the beauty of nature, whether it be the grand panoramas of the mountains or the intricate geometry of flowers. I first took up photography as a way of documenting the activities of my kids (our own Minnesota twins). It wasn't until after I retired from a 31 year career as an FBI Agent that I decided to devote more time to developing my craft as a photographer and traveling to some of the world's most remarkable places. In the picture above I am sitting on the crest of a cliff at the top of a moderately demanding hike in Norway's Lofoten Islands known as "Reinebringen". This vantage point overlooks the tiny fishing village of Reine and the dramatic fjord landscape that surrounds it. The Lofoten Islands are an absolutely stunning location and to top it off, who knew you would see Caribbean colored water and white sand beaches 100 miles north of the Arctic Circle!
Beauty can also be found much closer to home and you will see many examples of my love of photographing nature's beauty in the flowers and plants from my native wildflower and perennial gardens as well as the sunrises and sunsets of my adopted home state of Minnesota. I am humbled that you are visiting my site and I would be honored if you found something worthy of gracing your home. If there's something you're interested in and don't see in my portfolio, or if you have any questions or comments or even just want to say hello, please drop me a note on the "Contact Me" page. I look forward to being in touch. Thank you for visiting!
